Production Specialist
The Production team plays a critical role in bringing concepts to life. As Lippincott’s Production Specialist, you will contribute to the delivery of final assets to clients. Your meticulous hands-on technical expertise in perfecting design capital will support our team in the production of innovative, multi-channel branding materials. The work involved is 50% multi-channel, 30% digital, and 20% print.
On an average day, you will:
Produce deliverables
- Work alongside designers to quickly develop production solutions to execute concepts
- Convert creative files into final deliverables, inclusive of: making logo, icon, and pattern suites; matching colors across spaces and building color ASEs; Photoshop visualisation; editing website prototypes made in Figma/XD/Sketch; Word templates
- Create, refine, prepare, and package files for final output as client deliverables, conducting quality assurance checks prior to releases, and maintain resulting digital asset libraries
- Recognise and attend to important details with accuracy, efficiency, and intention
- Consistently apply and enforce style/brand guidelines when finalising client materials
Research and build ideas
- Be a subject matter expert: stay current on technology and advances and techniques that become industry standards, sharing knowledge and applying it in daily tasks
- Advise on best practices for efficient and accurate file construction, defining and cataloging specs and templates for use by colleagues and clients
- Find solutions for software limitations/technical constraints impacting ambitious designs
Manage time and projects
- Prioritise tasks to meet deadlines for multiple projects and inform stakeholders of progress
- With guidance, work within budget and schedules, estimating job time and output options
- Adhere to workflow protocols and contribute to their evolution and advocating
- Document and archive all work logically and in a timely manner for team access
Communicate and collaborate
- Work closely on teams to execute clearly defined tasks and meet deliverable requirements
- Troubleshoot process, capabilities, and outcomes, increasing efficiency throughout the firm
- Clearly articulate ideas, share research findings, and explain rationale with team members
- Maintain an unparalleled work ethic as a team player who is adaptable to shifting priorities
- Proactively seek constructive feedback from colleagues to foster professional development
We look for you to:
Be knowledgeable
- A technical/design-related Btec or bachelor’s degree and portfolio with proven aptitude
- 4+ years of print/digital design production experience in a busy agency/vendor/client studio
- Understand visual identity system principles, and the stages of developing their components
- Be insightful about digital/print color relationships, formulation, and WCAG compliance
- Be intimate with applying and optimising production techniques across a range of media while preserving design continuity in pixel-perfect executions
- Be solutions oriented with a “can-do” attitude
- Actively enhance your skills, learning about technology, media, production processes, design applications, and working methods
Be skilled
- Expertise in Adobe Illustrator, proficiency in InDesign, skill in Photoshop
- Experienced with Word styles and nuances of setting up Word email templates
- Capability with UI prototyping in Figma/XD/Sketch, and hand-off for developing
- Possess authoritative knowledge of optimal file formats for various print and digital usage
- Operate with exactitude, and revel in crafting multi-version assets with ultra-precision
- Familiarity with cloud-based storage systems (Google Drive, OneDrive, AEM)
- Nice to know, but not required: HTML coding, Cinema 4D, After Effects, Frontify, Mural
