As Senior Director, Content Strategy, you will be a creator – shepherding content from initial concept to content pillars, taxonomy development, front-end execution, and beyond. Your constant goal will be to expand ideas, experiences, product capabilities, and support design and experience innovation that will serve both the customer’s needs and our client’s business goals.
But you’ll also be a researcher. What brands are using content in a unique way? How are they bending the rules of experience but leveraging collaboration, culture, conversation, and contextual mechanisms that make their content – more. And how might we inspire our clients to experiment with the same?
As we look to grow our team and capabilities at Lippincott, the Sr. Director of Content Strategy will be responsible for defining, growing, and socializing the digital practice and the role of content within Lippincott and in our external representation to clients and peers. You’ll be a participant in defining and accelerating the product practice and cross-discipline collaboration throughout the firm by demonstrating the role content plays in company growth. You can expect to roll up your sleeves on content and concepts while also providing oversight across all content product-intensive projects. You’ll need to give constant attention to the growing content team’s performance, upskilling, and general well-being.
In your day-to-day, we look for you to:
- Lead content strategy development from discovery to distillation and execution for our clients
- Inventory existing URLs and mapping of vanities/pages/end-level content to placement in new site architectures
- Manage taxonomy POV and development for client projects
- Oversee high-level content strategy supporting the implementation of new brand voice imperatives as well as the enhancement of user experiences
- Collaborate on the development of templates and page types to support design efforts
- Oversee the keyword research, strategy assessment, and competitive analyses related to search engine optimization for our clients
- Explain SEO techniques and deliver strategic recommendations and opportunities for optimization to our clients to leverage their content strategy as a way to build a strong SEO presence
- Be a student of fast culture-constantly auditing and keeping up with content, social media and experience design trends and disruptors
- Collaborate on the development of information architecture, creation of new site structure, proposals for new navigation and search opportunities
- Creative lead for tagging strategy while partnering closely with experience design and technologists on controlled vocabulary to support the development of dynamic and personalized content experiences
- Play a key role in expanding our proprietary content framework into other use cases (research, workshops, brand, innovation, value proposition work, etc.
- Along with Experience Strategists, co-lead the research, audits, development of materials for and production of vision workshops
Who you are:
Knowledgeable and skilled:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience leading content strategy development, preferably in an agency or consulting environment throughout the entire web development process
- Experienced in and comfortable facilitating client workshops
- Strong technical understanding from tagging structures to architecture and taxonomy
- Expertise in SEO strategy and an understanding of the evolution of SEO, data, and the role of both in modern content development is preferred
- Experience working on large-scale redesigns or e-commerce
- Expert understanding of content delivery and management systems
- Related expertise in brand voice, brand or marketing campaign development and editorial strategies
- A creative writer of long and short-form content with a strong sense of diverse voices, voice development and stylistic references
Passionate and collaborative:
- Demonstrated problem-solver with a love for content challenges
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and autonomously
- Able to work closely with cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams to identify new opportunities to grow clients’ businesses and deliver on a vision
- A student of fast culture, social apps and services, new experiences, physical and digital communications, and storytelling brands
The applicable base pay for this role ranges from $145,000 – $170,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position will be eligible for performance-based incentives.
