Aline Kim
设计合伙人

Aline had always wanted to be an interior designer, but fell in love with graphic design after taking a typography class in college.
Since then, she has worked on some of the world’s largest consumer brands — including Starbucks, Walmart and Hyatt — and has lived in three of the largest cities in the US: New York, Chicago and San Francisco.
- Where do you find your inspiration / source of creativity?
I love browsing books at the bookstore — not just design books, but also cookbooks, scrapbooks and even children’s books. They spark some great ideas.
- Who is your favorite artist? 为什么?
I like the illustrator Charlie Harper. The way he approaches things is very unique: he has a very minimalist approach, simplifying nature into geometric shapes.
- If you weren’t in this profession, what would you be?
Event planner. I like to throw parties. But even if I were an event planner, I'd still be doing a lot of design work like decorating or designing the invitations.
- Who has influenced you most in your career? 但怎样才能做到这一点呢?
My mom. She was really creative. She designed her own jewelry and dresses because she didn’t like what she saw in the stores.
- For you, what makes Lippincott a special place to work?
It’s truly a place where you work with people who are really good at what they do, with very different perspectives and backgrounds. And there’s so much opportunity to learn and grow.
- What’s your happy place?
Home, with my family.
- Who would you change places with for a day?
Latte, my dog. He’s got the best life. I want to know what he’s thinking.
