- What is a little-known fact about Lippincott?
I don't think most people are aware of just how many famous brands Lippincott has helped over the past 75+ years. These are brands we all grew up with and are a part of our collective memory. I'm really looking forward to what we do next.
- When did you decide you wanted to be in this business? 为什么?
I was always artistic in school, but I was completely unaware that design existed, so I embarked on a journalism degree in college. I was living in London and making posters for my band, and I saw some amazing student work in the windows at Central St. Martins in Covent Garden. It was truly a eureka moment for me and from that moment on, I knew exactly what I had to do.
- Do you have a mantra or a favorite quote?
"This too shall pass." Perspective is very important to me.
- What’s changed the most about the industry / work / clients?
When I started out as a designer, there was a prevailing idea that great creative work was not always compatible with business aims. Thankfully, I've seen that sentiment steadily change over the years, to the point where most successful designers and clients agree that great creative is essentially linked to business success. There is no safety in work that is invisible.
- What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Creativity in all of its forms is what makes life worth living for me. The world can sometimes be a dark place, but design and music in particular keep me going and always give me hope.
- Where do you find your inspiration / source of creativity?
Well, there's always David Bowie! What a life, what a body of work. I continue to be inspired by his eclectic output, his bravery and his vision.
