For Thom, design isn’t about decoration. It’s about thoughtful visual communication.
In partnering with clients like UPS, Siemens and BP, that philosophy has been a constant for over 15 years. Specializing in integrated print, branding and digital communications, Thom uses design to tell stories and inform. Each project has something unique to say, and good, strategic design says the most when it is clean, elegant and clear. And to think, he was almost a forest ranger instead.
- In your own words, what do you do at Lippincott?
I think. I play. I experiment. All in an effort to solve complex problems and tell stories in the most simple, elegant and human ways I can.
- For you, what makes Lippincott a special place to work?
Lippincott is a place where I am challenged. Where I am inspired. Where I’m a surrounded by bright, fun and funny people with an amazing array of ideas, talents and perspectives.
Design is so simple. That’s why it’s so complicated.
- Which projects have been the most meaningful to you and why?
The best projects are the ones with the potential to make a real difference in people’s lives.
- What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My daughter. She always manages to wake up ten minutes before my alarm goes off.
